Punisher Adventure Race

Looking for a new challenge, or a new adventure? Challenge yourself with The Punisher Adventure Race at Christie Lake on Saturday June 16th. This five kilometre adventure race features 10 military style obstacles, a perfect opportunity for experienced and beginner adventure racers alike. Try and escape the 5 kilometers of open and groomed trails with moderate elevations while challenging yourself with 10 military obstacles along the way, which includes: Cargo Net Climbs, Wooden Hurdles, Wooden Wire Reel Climb, Balance Beam traverse, Mud Valleys, Hay Bale Pyramids, Combat Wall with Rope, Tire Hazards, Mud Pit Crawl, and a Fire Hose Gauntlet or take a Sissy Pass and walk the plank for a time penalty instead.  Learn more about Punisher Adventure Race.

Hamilton Conservation Authority offers two beautiful camping destinations in the greater Hamilton area. Our sites offer the best in natural surroundings, modern facilities, service and value. Located near Cambridge in the headwaters of Spencer Creek, Valens is a 300-hectare paradise for outdoor lovers; featuring more than 200 campsites with a northern feel close to home. Valens also offers winter camping. Fifty Point is a spectacular conservation area, with the warmest and cleanest beach on western Lake Ontario. It’s home to one of the most picturesque marinas anywhere. Docking/camping packages are available.

Get outdoors and explore the many great trails the HCA has to offer. These pathways provide important links to natural areas, valley lands, the Niagara Escarpment, Lake Ontario, and neighbouring municipalities. They also offer some of the best opportunities for recreation and nature appreciation - key components in the campaign to secure a healthy, sustainable community for future generations. Explore the East Mountain Trail Loop in East Hamilton, the extensive trail network of the Dundas Valley, the Chippawa Trail from Hamilton to Caledonia or take a boardwalk hike through a swamp on the Dofasco 2000 Trail.

Special Events

From antique shows featuring over 300 dealers, to concerts in a lakeside setting, to family hikes and activities, HCA has a wide range of special events running throughout the year. Westfield Heritage Village offers several historical and holiday-themed events. Wild Waterworks has a busy summer of exciting activities and special events including beach parties, teen nights and more. Valens’ winter and summer fishing tournaments are a great chance to win some prizes and spend a day fishing, on the ice or open water. Whatever your interests are, we have an event for you!
