Directions to Christie Lake
Welcome to Christie Lake Conservation Area, one of the most beautiful lake settings on the Niagara Escarpment.
While visiting, explore the trails that wind for 10 kilometres through peaceful meadows and towering pine forests - you'll be sure to see a wide range of wildlife that make their home in this 336-hectare conservation area. Trails are accessible by foot, snowshoes or cross-country skis, weather permitting.
Both swimmers and sunbathers will enjoy Christie Lake's 360-metre sandy beach. Tubes and flutter boards are available to rent at the Beach House. Please note that our natural swimming areas are not supervised and do not have lifeguards on duty.

Disc Golf at Christie Lake
Eighteen holes of flying fun are now open at Christie Lake Conservation Area with the introduction of disc golf: an exciting outdoor sport, gaining popularity world-wide.
Disc golf is a great outdoor activity, perfect for individual play, team play, and organized competition. It’s been around for more than 30 years, and more than 1200 courses exist in North America alone, with 100 new courses being built worldwide every year. Set up like a golf course, disc golf holes wind through fields and forests to reach the basket but played with flying discs rather than clubs and a ball.
Spring Fling Disc Golf Tournament
Christie Lake was proud to host the first Qualifying Tournament in the 2011 Gold Series for the Ontario Disc Sports Association (ODSA). The ODSA Gold Series is committed to crowning the best disc golfers in Ontario, and Christie Lake was the first of five Qualifying Tournaments with the Championship held this Fall in Toronto. For information regarding registration fees, please click here. If you would like to view the full schedule of events for the 2011 Disc Golf Series, please click here.
Since first played in the 1970s, the sport has gone pro over the last few decades. Professional disc golf associations hold tournaments all over the world for men, women, and children. Click the links below to download a scorecard, with or without a fact sheet.
Even if golf is not your bag, disc golf can be fun part of your picnic with friends or family.
Christie Lake's seven ponds are stocked with rainbow trout from the last Saturday in April to early June, but you can catch fish well into September. The trout are always ready to take the bait, so make sure you bring your fishing rod and tackle. All of the ponds are a short trip from the lake and bait is available for sale at the gatehouse.
Christie Lake can also be seen close up with a rowboat, canoe and kayak. Boats are available for rent.
Christie Lake's idyllic natural setting makes it a great destination for all sizes of group and family picnics. There is plenty of parking, covered picnic pavilions, hundreds of picnic tables and grassy fields that are perfect for games, races or just relaxing. With space for 10,000 visitors and cars, Christie Lake is ideal for your company's outdoor event. Contact park staff for more information.
